DACULA, Ga. - No. 1 seed Hebron swept No. 16 seed Wesleyan in three sets (25-14, 25-9, 25-14) on Saturday afternoon to advance to Elite Eight. This is the second straight year the Lions have advanced to the Elite Eight. The Lions improve to 37-5.
Ashley Troxell led the offense with 10 kills followed by
Addison Griffin with nine kills and two aces.
Imani Howell had seven kills and six blocks while
Aubrey Cowart posted six kills and three blocks.
Malia Silva recorded 16 digs and
Brooke Thao had 25 assists.
"We have been preparing all week for this matchup and I feel like we came out and executed our game plan. I'm super proud of the girls with the way we were able to execute. We were able to do it to perfection today," said head coach Taylor Davis.
HCA will host No. 8 seed Holy Innocents at Lions Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 23 for the Elite Eight round. The first set will begin at 6:00 p.m.
