DACULA, Ga. - The Hebron softball team secured a spot in the Elite Eight with a commanding sweep of North Cobb Christian, winning 8-0 in the opener and 12-3 in game two. This victory brings the Lions' record to 26-5, while the Eagles finish their season at 14-14.
Gwendolyn Hill was dominant on the mound, racking up a total of 17 strikeouts across both games. In the first game, she struck out 12 batters and allowed just two hits over six innings. In game two, she added five more strikeouts, giving up three runs on seven hits and three walks over five innings.
Gabby Raysor had an impressive day at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a run in game one and then stepping up with a stellar 2-for-2 performance in game two, including two RBIs, three runs, and a walk.
In game one, standout hitters included Jaycee Thornhill, who went 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs, and a run. Ainsley Trenbeath contributed with a double, a run, and an RBI, while Juliahna Huber added a double, two RBIs, and two runs. Lauren Kyranakis also shone, hitting a triple and scoring two runs.
In game two, Leah Jensen was a key player with a 2-for-3 showing, contributing two RBIs and two runs. Thornhill continued her strong performance with a triple and three RBIs. Huber and Kyranakis both had solid games as well, with Huber hitting a triple and scoring twice, while Kyranakis added two RBIs and two runs. Brittyn Sissom rounded out the offensive effort with an RBI and a walk.
