EMERSON, Ga.
– The Hebron Christian Academy volleyball team capped off an extraordinary season with a 3-1 victory over Mount Pisgah on Saturday, capturing the GHSA A-AAA Private State Championship at LakePoint Sports Complex.

The win gives Hebron (40-5) its third GHSA Volleyball State Championship in the last 11 years, securing titles in 2014, 2019 and again in 2024. Mount Pisgah saw its 10-game winning streak snapped as it ends the season at 41-8 overall.

"We had a great game plan today," said HCA Head Coach Taylor Davis. "We didn't quite execute the way we wanted to, but I'm so proud of our kids for staying tough. You have to give credit to Mount Pisgah for keeping us uncomfortable, but our kids are so resilient and I couldn't be more proud of them."

Coach Davis orchestrated of all three state titles, as he adds to his already impressive resume with his third state championship, sporting a record of 459-143 in 12 years at the helm of the program.

HCA had a perfect run in the state of Georgia in 2024, going an unblemished 40-0 against in-state programs and dropping just seven sets in 40 matches.

The Lions also end the season on an incredible 22-game winning streak, including winning 38 of their last 40 sets dating back to Sept. 21.

After HCA rallied to take the opening set 26-24, Mount Pisgah bounced back in the second set and raced out to an early lead before securing the set 25-18 and knotting the score at 1-1.

After the intermission, it was HCA's turn to take an early lead and the Lions never looked back in the fourth set, cruising to a 25-19 third-set victory and a 2-1 lead.

The Patriots were just three points away from sending the match to a fifth set, but the Lions came roaring back from being down 22-20 and won five of the next six points to secure the championship.

HCA graduates five seniors from its title team, as Brooke Thao, Ariana Rowland, Malia Silva, Imani Howell, Harper Mazzawi, Madison Mack and Ava Isaacs all end their high school careers as state champions.
