DACULA, Ga. - Hebron Christian Academy Director of Athletics Taylor Davis has announced the addition of girls lacrosse as a varsity sport for the 2024-25 school year with Scott Clawson serving as the head coach and bringing a decade of experience coaching lacrosse in the Mountain View district.
The addition of girls lacrosse marks the third new sport at HCA in the last four years after adding girls flag football in the fall of 2021 and boys lacrosse in the spring of 2023.
"It's with great excitement that we will be adding girls lacrosse this upcoming season," said Davis. "As the school has grown, we have been able to add programs to enhance what we can provide for our students. We are blessed to answer the need for the many girls that already love lacrosse and it will be an honor to watch them compete this upcoming spring."
Clawson brings a plethora of experience to the role, having coached youth girls lacrosse for eight years and earning six championship appearances with the Gwinnett Lacrosse League (GLL). His coaching has also led 12 of his athletes to play college lacrosse. Clawson's passion for girls lacrosse was sparked by his daughter Lily, who inspired him to start coaching.
"Coaching girls lacrosse at HCA will be a great opportunity for players, especially girls, to have a sport where they can learn the value of teamwork and each other," said Clawson. "These are skills they can carry with them throughout their lives."
Hebron is now home to 23 varsity sports, including 11 teams competing in the spring of 2025.
