DACULA, Ga. – Hebron Christian Academy Head Softball Coach Brittany Lewis has announced her decision to step down to pursue a new opportunity in a public school setting.
With her departure, current baseball and softball assistant coach and HCA alumnus Drew Coker has been named interim head coach.
"When our family came here four years ago, we never could have imagined how the Lord would use this program to bring such joy in our lives," Lewis said. "The past four seasons have been filled with challenges, successes, hard work and lots of joy. The way you embraced our family, our strong coaching style, determination and vision for this program was nothing short of amazing."
Lewis concludes her tenure at Hebron after guiding the Lions to three consecutive GHSA State Championship appearances and two region titles, while compiling an impressive overall record of 106–35.
"We have been incredibly blessed over the past four years to watch our softball program grow into one recognized across the state," said HCA Director of Athletics Taylor Davis. "This success is a direct reflection of Brittany's leadership and her unwavering investment in our student-athletes. I am deeply grateful for the lasting impact the Lewis family has made, both on and off the field."
Under her leadership, the program experienced consistent growth, as she increased the team's win total in each of her four seasons. The 2025 campaign marked a milestone year, with the Lions finishing 31-4, the highest single-season win total of her head coaching career.
"Beyond the physical growth that took place on the field, the mental and spiritual growth of each athlete has been at the forefront of our program. The way you have honored the Lord in your work, your play and in your relationships has been inspiring to watch," Lewis said. "We have full faith in this program to continue onward with the determination and commitment we have worked so hard to build."
Hebron Christian Academy will begin an immediate search for its next head softball coach, focusing on identifying a leader who will build upon the strong foundation and sustained success established during Lewis's tenure.
