Christi Thomas

Christi Thomas was named Head Girls Basketball Coach at Hebron Christian Academy in 2026, bringing with her an accomplished playing career, extensive coaching experience, and a passion for developing student-athletes spiritually, mentally, and physically.

A former WNBA player and University of Georgia standout, Thomas is committed to building a championship culture rooted in faith, excellence, integrity, and servant leadership. She believes athletics provides a unique platform to help young women grow in their relationship with Christ while developing the character, discipline, and confidence needed to succeed both on and off the court.

Thomas enjoyed a seven-year WNBA career with the Los Angeles Sparks, Minnesota Lynx, and Chicago Sky after being selected 12th overall in the 2004 WNBA Draft. She also competed professionally for nine seasons overseas in Spain, Russia, Latvia, Israel, Italy, and Turkey.

Prior to her professional career, Thomas established herself as one of Georgia's premier high school players at Buford High School. She scored more than 2,100 career points, led the Wolves to a state runner-up finish, and was named Miss Georgia Basketball in 2000.

At the University of Georgia, Thomas earned SEC Freshman of the Year honors before becoming a three-time All-SEC selection from 2001–04. She also represented the United States on the Under-20 National Team, winning a gold medal while earning all-tournament honors.

Following her playing career, Thomas transitioned into coaching and player development, serving at Perimeter Christian Schools, the Cambridge feeder program, Northview High School, Flowery Branch High School, Jackson County High School, and Seckinger High School. While at Northview, she was recognized as Community Coach of the Year during the 2015–16 season, and she helped guide Flowery Branch to consecutive GHSA Final Four appearances in 2017 and 2018.

In recognition of her accomplishments and contributions to the sport, Thomas was inducted into the Gwinnett County Sports Hall of Fame in 2015.

Thomas earned a bachelor's degree in Consumer Economics from the University of Georgia, a master's degree in Criminal Justice and Security from the University of Phoenix, and an Education Specialist degree from Piedmont University.

Her coaching philosophy centers on developing the whole athlete, fostering a culture that reflects integrity, humility, and excellence while preparing young women to compete at a high level and become confident leaders grounded in their faith.
