ROME, Ga. - The Hebron boys cross country won the Area 4 A-AAA Championship with 93 points on Saturday morning. The girls finished Area 4 A-AAA runner-ups. Both teams have qualified for the GHSA State Meet, set to take place on November 8th at Carrollton High School, with the boys scheduled to race at 9 a.m. and the girls at 9:45 a.m.
Individually, the boys team was led by
Anderson Mathias, who secured a remarkable second place with a time of 16:43.60. Javi Silva followed closely in seventh place at 17:31.10, while
Marco Perez finished eighth with a time of 17:59.10.
Matthew Kirk scored for the boys, finishing 11th in 18:24.90, and
Sean McCorkle placed 16th with a time of 18:35.00.
On the girls side,
Eloise Jones set the pace with a sixth-place finish in 21:13.70.
Lindsay Buchanan finished 10th at 22:07.30, and
Amber Smith crossed the line in 17th place with a time of 22:50.50. Taylor Prezzano and
Hannah Sommers also contributed strong performances, finishing 20th (23:04.70) and 25th (23:23.00), respectively.
