DACULA, Ga. – Hebron Christian Academy Director of Athletics Taylor Davis has announced the hiring of Quentin Davie as the new Head Football Coach. Already a member of the Hebron community, Coach Davie brings a wealth of playing experience at the collegiate and professional levels and has a heart for developing young men on and off the field.
"We believe the Lord has clearly led Coach Davie to this moment," said HCA Head of School Dr. James Taylor. "Coach Davie is a man who loves Jesus deeply, loves people well, and has a genuine heart for the spiritual formation of young men. His knowledge of football is significant, but what excites us most is his commitment to discipling athletes and pointing them toward Christ in every area of life. As a husband, a father of three HCA students, and a servant leader, he understands our community and shares our mission. We are grateful for how God has prepared him for this calling, and we are eager to see how the Lord will use Coach Davie to build a Christ-centered football program that impacts lives far beyond the field."
A former linebacker at Northwestern University, Davie was a four-year letterwinner and team captain who started 39 career games for the Wildcats. He completed his career with 240 tackles, 28 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks, ranking tied for eighth all-time in program history.
"We are thrilled to welcome Coach Davie as our new football coach," said Director of Athletics Taylor Davis. "We couldn't be more excited about the future of our program under his leadership. His heart for Jesus and his passion for leading young men, both on and off the field, are evident, and we are confident his influence will be powerful. We are incredibly grateful for the impact Coach Davie will have on our team, our school, and our community, and we can't wait to see what's ahead."
He earned a spot on the 2010 Butkus Award Watch List, was elected to Northwestern's 10-player Leadership Council, and helped lead a senior class that won 34 games and achieved bowl eligibility in four consecutive seasons. He also was invited to compete in the 2011 NFL Players Association All-Star Game, where he recorded three tackles for the winning Texas team.
Coach Davie continued his football journey professionally in the NFL with the Detroit Lions and later played in the CFL with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
"I truly feel like I am here because of a calling, a calling that was way beyond any of my thoughts and dreams. It's been just mind-blowing, and I would say it's an opportunity of a lifetime to come and serve and be a steward to young men who remind me of my young boys. I won't take it lightly at all." Davie said.
Beyond the game of football, his leadership experience rivals his impressive playing career. Most recently, Coach Davie has served as Security Director at Passion City Church for the last four years, leading security operations across multiple campuses and overseeing large-scale events while developing and training teams.
Previously, he spent seven years with the Village of Deerfield Police Department outside Chicago, including service as a School Resource Officer at Deerfield High School, where he worked closely with students through mentoring, safety education, and crisis intervention.
"I was able to talk to all types of people … come to people in crisis, and be able to deescalate situations. The sport of football, it's a passionate sport, we will be up, we will be down, and as coaches, we need to be right on that line of calm," Davie said. "I think my professional career helped me see people in all phases of life … It helped me to minister and see where people are coming from and know how to approach them."
Coach Davie has remained connected to football and youth development, serving as the founder and president of the Evanston Lightning Youth Football program, as well as serving as an assistant coach at Deerfield High School for two seasons. He also returned to Northwestern following his playing career, serving on the football staff as a recruiting assistant.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Learning and Organizational Change from Northwestern University.
Coach Davie and his wife, Alexandra, are fully invested in the Hebron Christian Academy community, as their three sons, Quentin Jr. (8th grade), Austin (3rd grade), and Ace (1st grade), are all students at HCA.
