HCA Announces Coach Dallas Stepping Away from Football

After one season as the head coach of Hebron football, Kenny Dallas has chosen to step away from football to pursue a pastoral role.

Below is a message from Hebron Christian Academy Head of School Dr. James Taylor and Director of Athletics Taylor Davis regarding the departure of head football coach Kenny Dallas.

--

After much prayer and discernment, Coach Dallas has accepted a brand new calling as Executive Pastor at a thriving church south of Atlanta.

First, we want to honor and thank Coach Kenny Dallas for his faithful leadership, tireless investment, and Christ-centered example. Although Coach Dallas has served at HCA for only one year, his impact has been extraordinary. Under his leadership, our football program reached historic heights, including last season's back-to-back State Championship, an achievement that reflects discipline, unity, perseverance, and trust in the Lord. Even more importantly, Coach Dallas consistently pointed our young men to Christ, modeling humility, integrity, and servant leadership through both his words and his actions. This Christ-centered approach was best embodied when Coach Dallas had the privilege of baptizing eight of our players on our field.

This decision is not a departure from ministry, but a continuation of it. As Scripture reminds us, "In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps" (Proverbs 16:9). We fully affirm Coach Dallas' obedience to God's leading and send him with our blessing, gratitude, and prayers. He leaves a legacy that will continue to shape our program for years to come.

We ask that you join us in praying for Coach Dallas and his family as they step into this new season of pastoral ministry. We have total and complete confidence that God has orchestrated his steps, and thus God also has already planned our next coaching step. God has been faithful to this program, and we rest secure knowing that He will continue to guide and bless it in the days ahead.

In the days ahead, we will be sharing additional important updates about the future of our football program, first with our players, and then with our football community. There is much to look forward to, and we are eager to walk this next chapter together as a community.

Transitions like this remind us that while seasons change, God's purposes remain constant. We are grateful for what the Lord has done through Coach Dallas, and we are expectant for what God will do in the days ahead.

Thank you for your continued prayers, trust, and support of Hebron Christian Academy. We look forward to the future with total confidence in God's provision.

With gratitude and hope,

Dr. James Taylor
Head of School

Taylor Davis
Athletic Director

A message from Coach Dallas
"For the last 30 years, God has given me the incredible privilege of coaching and teaching young men, and challenging them to become godly men. Hebron has been a special part of that calling, and I am deeply grateful to this school, our administration, and the unwavering support they've shown me and our program. I want to sincerely thank Dr. Taylor, Athletic Director Taylor Davis, and the entire Hebron community. To the coaches and especially to the players, you have meant more to me than you'll ever know. Coaching you has been an honor, and this team will forever hold a special place in my heart. As I step away from coaching to follow God's leading into full-time ministry, please know that I am always in your corner. I will always be just a call away. God bless each of you and your families."
