JACKSONVILLE, Ga. - The Hebron girls basketball team extended their perfect start to the 2024-25 season with two impressive victories at the Insider Exposure Thanksgiving Invitational. The Lions defeated Palm Bay (Melbourne) 72-47 and IMG Academy 55-50, improving to 4-0 overall.
Against Palm Bay, Hebron was led by standout performances from
Gabby Minus, who scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Mia James earned Insider Exposure Player of the Game honors, contributing 12 points and six rebounds.
JaKerra Butler added 17 points and eight rebounds, while
Danielle Osho chipped in 11 points and five boards to help secure the win.
The Tuesday morning matchup between Hebron and IMG Academy, ranked No. 2 in the ESPN rankings, was a thrilling back-and-forth contest. Ultimately, the Lions edged out the top-ranked squad 55-50, with both Butler and Minus recording double-doubles. Butler tallied 10 points and 12 rebounds, while Minus contributed 17 points and 10 rebounds. Osho also had a strong showing with 17 points and six rebounds.
Hebron has a little over a week before hitting the court against Woodward Academy on Saturday, Dec. 7th. Tip-off is set for 1:30 p.m.
