Gasper Crowned State Champion in 100 Butterfly

ATLANTA, Ga.- For the first time in swim program history, Hebron Christian Academy had an athlete win a state title in an event. Junior Matthew Gasper claimed the title in the 100 butterfly with a time of 51.41. Aiden Gilmore from Mount Paran finished second in 51.88 and Stanton Zwygart from Whitefield Academy placed third with a time of 52.30.

The Lions had a great state meet with the boys team earning a fourth place finish in the 200 medley relay. The girls finished tenth in the 200 medley relay and individually, Adalina Thompson, placed sixth in the 100 freestyle. The GHSA state meet wraps up the Hebron swim season after the team made history this year. The Lions qualified in ten events for the state meet this year.

"As we close the chapter on this incredible season, I couldn't be prouder of our team's dedication and perseverance. Matthew Gasper's victory in the 100 Butterfly not only exemplifies his individual talent, but also reflects the collective effort and spirit of our entire swim team. Let this achievement be a beacon of inspiration for all our athletes as we look ahead to even greater successes in the seasons to come," stated head coach Kevin McGinty.
