CHEROKEE, Ga. - The Hebron swim team had a strong showing at the Water Warrior Invite on Saturday afternoon. Out of nine teams, the Lions secured third place overall, with the boys team taking second and the girls team finishing fifth place.
On the boys side,
Riley Richards came in first place in the 200 free in 1:51.04 and the 100 free in 48.51.
Matthew Gasper earned a first place finish in the 500 free with a time of 5:23.06 and he finished second in the 100 fly with 54.34. JB Knoll took home first place in the 100 breast with 1:07.41. The boys 400 free relay team of
Ethan Kim,
Joshua Graves,
Matthew Gasper, and
Riley Richards claimed first place with 3:27.48.
On the girls side,
Adalina Thompson clinched a state cut in the 100 back with a fourth place finish and a time of 1:05.76. The girls 200 free relay team of Thompson,
Jayda Trujillo,
Ayla Ziegler, and
Madison Wiggins placed second and clinched a state cut with a time of 1:52.85.
The Lions gear up for the GHSA State Championships beginning with the semifinals on Wednesday, Feb. 5 and finals on Thursday, Feb. 6 at Georgia Institute of Technology.
