CARNESVILLE, Ga. - The Hebron baseball team opened up region play by winning both games of the doubleheader at Franklin County. The Lions won game one 3-2 and took home the victory in game two 6-5.
In the first game,
Leyton Jones pitched a gem, throwing a complete game allowing only 4 hits, 1 earned run, 1 walk, and 6 strikeouts. The offense was led by
Devon Caldwell, who went 2-3 with a double, 2 runs, and a walk.
Thomas Stallworth went 2-4 with an RBI double. Sam Mitchell recorded 1-3 with a walk.
In game two,
Dallas Rice started the game and went one 2/3 innings before handing the ball over to
Dean Livingston, who shut Franklin down. Livingston went five 1/3 innings allowing only 3 hits, 1 run, 0 walks, and striking out an incredible 13 hitters. The offense was led by Sam Mitchell, who was 2-4 with a double, 1 RBI, and a run;
Sebastian Daigle, who was 2-4 with a RBI and a run. Pitcher
Thomas Stallworth was 1-3 with a single hit.
The Lions improve to 6-7 overall and 2-0 in the region.
