DACULA, Ga. - The Hebron baseball team swept Cedar Grove in a doubleheader on Tuesday afternoon to advance to the Sweet Sixteen. The Lions won the first game 17-1 and the second 19-2 with both games going to four innings.
Game 1
Pitcher
Leyton Jones threw a four innings and struck out ten batters and allowed zero walks.
The offense was led by
Dean Livingston and he went 2-2 with a triple, a 2 RBI double, a walk & a hit by pitch. Livingston also scored three times. Other offensive standouts were
Barrett Bruce as he went 1-2 with two runs.
Tyler Rogers was 1-2 with a double, a hit by pitch and a run and
Leyton Jones was 1-1 with a 2 RBI double and a run.
Devon Caldwell was 0-0 with a walk, a hit by pitch, two runs and a RBI.
Sebastian Daigle hit 0-0 with two walks and two runs.
Game 2
Daniel Barwick took the mound in game two and he was unstoppable. Barwick pitched four innings where he had six strikeouts and only allowed two runs.
The offense was led by
Tyler Rogers,
Sebastian Daigle, Sam Mitchell and
Destin Matthews. Rogers was 2-2 with two singles, a run, and a RBI. Daigle was 1-2 with two walks, two runs, and a RBI triple. Mitchell hit 1-2 with two hit by pitch and a triple. Matthews was 1-2 with two runs. Other offensive standouts were
Devon Caldwell and he went 0-1 with two hit by pitches and reached on an error.
Aubrey Wilbanks was 1-1 with a single and a run.
Dallas Rice was 1-1 with a RBI single.
Leyton Jones was 1-1 with a RBI double.
Dylan Webb was 0-0 with a walk, a hit by pitch and a run.
The Lions face Pickens next week in the Sweet Sixteen round after the Dragons defeated Adairsville in a doubleheader to advance.
