DACULA, Ga. - The Hebron baseball team concluded its season after falling to No. 3 Pickens County 10-0 on Tuesday night. The Lions brought the series to three games after going 1-1 on Monday night. HCA lost game one 1-0 and won 4-3 off a walk-off by
Dean Livingston.
Game 1
Leyton Jones went five innings allowing only one run, four hits, and one strike out.
Dean Livingston came in in the sixth inning and threw a scoreless inning, striking out one.
The offense was led by
Tyler Rogers,
Demitri Watts,
Sebastian Daigle,
Devon Caldwell, and
Barrett Bruce.
Game 2
Daniel Barwick pitched eight innings allowing only three runs and striking out five before handing the ball over to
Dean Livingston who went the final three innings allowing zero runs, zero hits and striking out three to shut the Dragons down.
The offense was led by
Demitri Watts,
Tyler Rogers,
Devon Caldwell,
Dean Livingston,
Barrett Bruce &
Aubrey Wilbanks. Watts was 2-4 with a double and a solo hit. Rogers was 2-4 with two singles, a RBI and a walk. Caldwell was 3-5 with three singles, a stolen base and he scored the winning run. Livingston was 2-6 with the winning single to walk it off in the bottom of the 11th inning. Bruce was 1-4 with a double and a HBP. Wilbanks has a HUGE pinch hit single that scored Stallworth.
With one out in the eleventh inning,
Devon Caldwell singled and stole second base.
Sebastian Daigle drew a walk. Caldwell and Daigle advanced to second and third base off a wild pitch. With a 1-0 count,
Dean Livingston hit the ball to left field to score Caldwell and get the walk-off win. This brought the series to a third game on Tuesday evening.
Game 3
The Lions were unable to stop the Dragons in game three after Pickens went 10-0. The Dragons take the series and advance to the Elite Eight.
Hebron finishes the season with a 20-15 overall and 10-5 region record. The Dragons move to 29-7, 17-1 and advance to the Elite Eight where the team will play Harlem.
