HCA Alumni Garrett Howe Selected in MLB Draft

DACULA, Ga. - Former Hebron baseball player, Garrett Howe, was selected by the Cleveland Guardians in the 11th round of the Major League Baseball Draft on Tuesday. 

As a Lion, Howe was a two-time Golden Glove winner. He was named to the 2018 and 2019 All-Region Team and helped the Lions advance to the 2017 Region Championship. He is the fifth baseball player in program history to play at the professional level.  

In 2020, Howe committed to Samford University where he played all four years as a Bulldog. In four years, the Bulldog shortstop recorded a career .304 batting average. He had 245 career hits which ties for sixth in program history at Samford. His senior year, Howe had the second-highest batting average on the team with .369. He tallied 83 hits which tied for the most on the team this past season.

Howe led the Bulldogs to two Southern Conference Tournament titles and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2021 and 2023.
