Brandy Manning Named Junior Varsity Head Coach for Boys Basketball

DACULA, Ga. - Head boys basketball coach Derrick Mason has selected Brandy Manning to lead the Junior Varsity boys basketball program. Coach Manning will also be teaching geography at HCA.

"I am thrilled to be joining Coach Mason and the staff at Hebron Christian Academy. What he has accomplished in the first two seasons at Hebron has been impressive to watch," commented Manning. "He has a clear vision for where he wants to take this program and I can't wait to do my part in helping him accomplish those goals. There are very few places that devote the commitment and resources to their athletic programs like Hebron, so I am eager to experience that support and the energy of this faith based community first hand."

Coach Manning comes to Hebron Christian Academy with a plethora of experience after he has coached for over 15 years at the Division I level. That history has seen Manning build his resume with stops at Murray State (2006-07), Central Florida ('07-08), Arizona ('08-13), Southern California ('13-14), Texas State ('14-15), California State Northridge ('16-19), Georgia Tech ('19-20), and Old Dominion ('20-21).

Along with his Division I experience, Manning is certified as an education specialist in leadership. He has taught students from the elementary to high school level in social studies and special education.

"I'd like to welcome Brandy Manning to our Hebron family. He has one of the brightest minds in the game of basketball and has a relentless work ethic," stated Mason. "Brandy brings a wealth of Xs and Os experience to Hebron from his time coaching in the NCAA. He is recognized as a man of high character and a leader in player development, both crucial to the viability of our program. We are excited Brandy is on board to work with our student-athletes through all aspects of our boy's program. Not only is he a fantastic coach, but he is an even better person who loves the Lord and his family. I am sure Brandy and his family will become a valued part of the Hebron community for years to come."

Manning has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Clark Atlanta University in 2002 and a master's degree in education from University of Louisville in 2005. He is married to Nakaya and the couple has two sons, Brandyn and Quintyn, and a daughter, Devyn.
