DACULA, Ga. - The Hebron football team dominated on Friday night after a 48-0 win over Therrell in the annual Corky Kell and Dave Hunter Classic. The Lions are 1-0 to start the 2024 campaign while the Panthers move to 0-1.Â
Offensively,
Devon Caldwell had eight carries for 50 yards and three scores on the night.
KJ Thomas and
Jarvis Mathurin had one score each for the Lions. Stallworth had 10 completions for 231 yards and two scores. Stallworth had a 97-yard completion to Thomas to put the Lions up 24-0 at the half.Â
Sichan John had quite a night as he lead the defense in tackles with seven.
Nicholas Wade had six tackles followed by
Carrington Coombs with five.
Stroud Morris recorded one interception in the first quarter. Â
"I'm super proud of the boys, they have been working really hard and cleaned up some stuff from last week. But, it's just game one, we just got to continue to get better," commented head coach
Jonathan Gess after the victory.Â
After the game,
Devon Caldwell received The Robbie Hunter Most Valuable Player Award after scoring three touchdowns.
Thomas Stallworth was named Corky Kell Offensive Player of the Game and
Nicholas Wade earned Defensive Player of the Game.Â
The Lions travel to Fellowship Christian School next Friday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Bob Lord Stadium.Â
