FRANLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - The No. 1 seed Hebron boys basketball team defeated Franklin County 55-46 on Friday night to capture the 2025 Region 8-AA Championship. This is the first time in program history that the Lions have won the region championship.
Hebron ultimately emerged victorious behind a standout performance from sophomore
Lukas Romine. Romine recorded a double-double with 12 points, 13 rebounds, and three assists, leading the team in both scoring and rebounding.
Devon McField contributed 11 points, two rebounds, and four assists, providing crucial support throughout the game.
Brandon Becker also added 11 points and two rebounds.
"I could not be happier for a group of guys!" said head coach Derrick Mason. "They have stayed committed to our process of getting 1% better everyday spiritually, academically, and athletically. We knew we would compete in a hostile environment and embraced it. Despite being down by double digits, our guys showed the resolve, grit, and determination worthy of only a champion."

Isaiah Box earned Honorable Mention.Â
The win sets the stage for Hebron as they look ahead to the GHSA Private State Tournament next week. With the opponent and location yet to be determined.
