DACULA, Ga. - Both Hebron soccer teams defeated 6A school, Rockdale County, on Friday night at Burlingame Field. The boys won 5-0 while the girls were victorious 4-0 over the Bulldogs. With this win, the boys improve to 7-1-1 while the girls move to 5-2.
Offensively,
Benji Gunji's leads the boys team with 12 goals on the season.
Aiden Kanclerz had quite a night against the Bulldogs as he tallied two goals.
Mason Luke was the other player with two goals and Sam Carlson had one on the night. At goalkeeping, Sebatian Covarrubias had two saves to keep Rockdale County scoreless in 90 minutes of play.
On the girls side,
Micah Turner has been a key player maker for the Lions with 10 goals on the year. Against Rockdale County, the Lions had four players score including
Micah Turner (1),
Layla Melton (1),
Mikayla Trapp (1), and
Caleigh Adams (1).
Ava Isaacs had seven saves on the night and records 34 saves on the season.
Up Next: The Lions continue region play at home against Oconee County on Tuesday, March 19. The girls play at 6:00 p.m. followed by the boys at 8:00 p.m. The teams travel to Hart County on Friday, March 22. Girls kick off at 5:30 p.m. and the boys will be at 7:00 p.m.
