DACULA, Ga. - In a tightly contested semifinal match, the No. 1-ranked Hebron Christian Academy boys soccer team fell 1-0 to No. 3 Whitefield Academy on Friday evening, ending its postseason run just short of the title game.
Whitefield goalkeeper Rueben Clarson delivered a standout performance with 10 saves, holding off relentless pressure from a determined Hebron offense. Despite a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks and several close chances, the Lions couldn't break through.
The game marked the second meeting between the two teams this season; Hebron won the previous matchup 2-1 on March 11. Hebron concludes another stellar campaign with an 18-2 overall record and its third consecutive Final Four appearance.
Whitefield Academy (17-6) faces Atlanta International in the GHSA Private State Championship on Wednesday, April 14th.
