DACULA, Ga. - Hebron Flag Football improved to 9-3 last week after defeating Walnut Grove and Morgan County at home last Tuesday, Nov. 4 at home.
The Lions started off with Walnut Grove, winning that match up 9-6 in a close defensive battle. Aubrey Cowart was the offensive hero for Hebron, catching four passes for 59 yards and a touchdown. KK prentice added three catches for 21 yards, while Ava Jenkins had one snag for 15 yards.
Supplying them with the ball was Bella Brown, who completed nine passes for 98 yards with a 10.9-yard average.
Sophia Rhodes led the ground game with 20 yards on four carries, Brown had 13 on two carries and Cowart had six yards on two touches.
On defense, Rhodes paced the Lion pressure with two sacks in the win. Clara Rothwell led the team with seven pulls, while Callie Woods and Lyndsey Hartstock each had four.
The Lions defense continued to show out, forcing Morgan County to go scoreless in a 20-0 victory. Rhodes and Rothwell each had two sacks, while Makari Glover and Lillie Hill each had an interception.
Under center, Brown had 136 yards-passing on nine completions, connecting with Prentice for 40 yards and two touchdowns, and Rothwell for 29 yards and another score. Cowart and Leah Jensen combined for 29 yards across three carries on the ground.
Hebron will be on the road this Wednesday, Nov. 12, traveling to Monroe to take on East Jackson and Monroe Area at 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., both are region contests.
