MONROE, Ga. - Hebron Flag Football went 2-0 last week, shutting out area foes East Jackson and Monroe Area last Wednesday Nov. 12.
With the two victories, the Lions improved to 11-3 overall and 5-1 in area play. Hebron is currently second in D2 Area 8, just one game back of Seckinger.
In Tuesday's opening game against East Jackson, the Lions shut out the Eagles 27-0. The Lions had a very balanced offensive attack, throwing for 82 yards and rushing for 78. Quarterback Bella Brown led the Lions in passing with 64 yards through the air on six completions. Kaitlyn Green was the leading receiver with two catches for 40 yards and a touchdown. Kai Williams added two catches for 13 yards, Ava Jenkins caught three passes for 10 yards, while Lauren Kyranakis, Taryn Dixon, and Sophia Rhodes each had one snag.
On the ground, Saige Walker led the Lions with 32 yards on three carries with a touchdown. Leah Jenson had two carries for 23 yards.
On defense, Makari Glover and Clara Rothwell forced turnovers, both being interceptions.
In Hebron's 20-0 win over Monroe Area, it was Walker who led Hebron in the passing game, completing nine passes for 68 yards. She also rushed for 55 yards on six carries. Green added a touchdown run, with three catches and a touchdown reception.
Supporting the air raid were Williams with an 11-yard reception, Rhodes with 14 yards on three catches and Dixon, who had three catches for 36 yards.
Williams and Rothwell paced the defense, each earning an interception.
Hebron's next contest will be at home against Dacula High School tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
